Our Partners

The LSD enjoys a long, standing cooperation with the industry. Our main partners have been:

· The HP (Hewllet Packard): a partnership that began in 2003. Since then we have been developing P&D projects in the areas of peer-to-peer systems and on-request computing services, including grid and cloud computing.

· The PETROBRAS: a partnership that started in 2001. In the last few years, we have developed two projects on production optimization (MDTP and SmartPumping). At present we are busy developing the project MAS-SCM for optimizing the management of the Petrobras’s supplying chain by utilizing multi-agent systems.

The CHESF: our partnership with the CHESF happened in connection with the project SmartAlarms. The partnership between the CHESF and the DSC/UFCG has grown stronger over the years with several projects being developed, including the project Wireless MPCCS, coordinated by Professor Marco Aurélio Spohn.

Our Partnerships with other Universities and Research Centers

Along the years, the LSD has been developing projects in association with several Universities and other national and international Research Centers. Here are some of the projects that are being implemented as a result of this association:

  • The Project "Reliability in Computer Grids Operation", funded by the CAPES and the COFECUB – from 2005 to 2008 – in association with the IRISA, the UFBA, the University of Paris, and the Sud University of Paris.
  •  The Project "Large Scale Distributed Dynamic Systems” funded by the CAPES  (Procad) – 2006 to 2009 – in association with the UFRGS and the UFPR.
  • The Project "GerpavGrid", funded by the CT-INFO in 2005, in association with the PUC-RS.
  • The Project "GridVida", funded by the CT-INFO in 2005, in association with the UFPE.
  • The Projects "EELA-2" and "CyTED-Grid", both sponsored by the European Commission. The CyTED-Grid project, from 2006 to 2008, involved the Universities of Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and of several countries in Latin America.  The EELA-2 Project started on 2008 and will be hold until 2010 also involved researchers from several Europeans and Latin America countries.
